Although he has been a lorry driver for over ten years, Ah Dee actually hates driving. What has kept him doing the job is that every time he drives he knows that he will see his friends soon as he feels that all his clients are friends and it is this feeling that is his motivation for being a lorry driver. He was forced to learn to drive by his father who wanted him to have a life skill in order to be able to earn a living and although he hated the job at first he now feels that in some ways his father did the right thing as he can help people and serve his clients. He always ensures that he does what he has promised to do and delivers things on time and his clients trust that they can rely on him to get the job done. They also feel that they can talk with him about anything, whether the work or their lives, families etc. and he helps his clients to sort out any problems they might have. He is a compassionate person and now thinks of his job as a way to help people and gain the satisfaction of being trusted and capable. This kind of satisfaction turned his most hated job into his favourite job and he feels that whether something is heaven or hell depends upon your perception.
